Mirchi vada Recipe
Mirchi pakoda (Mirchi Bhajia, Mirchi bhajji, mirchi bada ) Recipe is a favorite snack during the rainy and cold seasons. This is also made at home and is popular street food. Ingredients for Mirchi vada Recipe
Thick chillies 6-8
Gram Flour (Besan) 1 1/2 cup
Rice flour 01 tablespoon
Potato 01 (boil and mashed)
Ginger 1/2 tablespoon (grated)
Red chili powder 1½ tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
Coriander powder 1/2tsp
Ajwain 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala 1/2tsp
Baking soda 01 pinch
Salt as per taste
Water as required
Oil for deep fry
How to make Mirchi vada Recipe (mirchi bhajji)
Stuffing for Mirchi bhajji
- First, peel the boiled potatoes and mash them well.
- Now heat some oil in a pan, add ajwain seeds.
- Add grated ginger, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt as per taste and mix well.
- Add boiled potato and chaat powder to it and mix well.
- Now your stuffing is ready, keep it aside in a bowl.
- Wash and dry the green chilies thoroughly. After drying, cut them lengthwise with a knife.
- Likewise, cut all the chilies.
- Take one chili in your hand and fill the stuffing well, fill all the chilies and keep them aside.
Gram flour batter
- Now take gram flour in a big bowl as per the above-mentioned quantity, add some red chilli powder and salt in it (mind you have added chilli and salt in the filling) and mix well.
- Now prepare a thick batter by slowly adding water, the solution is not too thin and too thick.
- Cover the bowl and leave it at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
- Before frying pakoras, add 1 pinch of baking soda to it.
How to fry Mirchi vada
- When your batter is ready, heat the oil in the pan.
- Heat the oil well. Now take chilli and coat it well in gram flour batter and deep fry it in oil.
- When the shells turn brown on one side, flip the mirchi bhajji and fry them on the other side.
- Take it out and put it in a paper towel so that its excess oil comes out.
- Similarly, take out all the Mirchi Bhajia (snacks) and put them in a paper towel.
- Likewise fry all the Mirchi vada (mirchi bada), after frying the Mirchi Bhajiya, serve hot with green chutney, red chutney, or tomato sauce.
Suggestions
- Do not dilute the batter for chilli vada, otherwise, the gram flour will not rise well over the chilli.
- Mirchi vada should be well heated for frying, turn the flame to medium after some time after adding vada.
