Ingredients for a Karela gravy recipe
Bitter gourd 400 grams
Tamarind pulp 03 tbsp
Tomatoes 02 (medium size) chopped
Onion 02 (medium size) chopped
Turmeric powder 01 teaspoon
Coriander powder 01 teaspoon
Red chili powder 01 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves 7-8
Mustard Oil 03 tablespoons
Salt as per taste
Jaggery 03 Tbsp
Preparation for karela curry
- First of all, soak the tamarind in water and soak it for 10-15 minutes, now take out the pulp and put it in a bowl.
- Wash the bitter gourd and cut it into rounding, and remove the seeds.
- Mix one spoon of coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt well in a bowl, and marinate the chopped bitter gourd in it.

How to make bitter gourd curry
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the marinate bitter gourd, keep it aside.
- Add 2 teaspoons of oil to the same pan and heat it, now add mustard seeds and curry leaves and fry it.
- Now add chopped onions and roast them till they turn pink.
- Add chopped tomatoes and stir well. After frying a little, add marinate bitter gourd and fry it.
- Now add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt, and add tamarind pulp with water and stir.
