Ingredients for Mutton Pulao
Mutton 300 grams (clean and wash the meat pieces thoroughly)
Basmati Rice 02 cups (washed and soaked)
Big cardamom 4-5
Black pepper 01 tsp
Cloves 5-6
Ghee or butter 04 tbsp
Cinnamon piece 01 inch
Red chili 4-5 (whole)
Onion 01 big (chopped)
Green chillies 3-4 slit
Kashmiri Chilli Powder 01 tsp
Garam Masala Powder 01 tsp
Turmeric powder 01tsp
Coriander powder 02tsp
bay leaves 02
Salt as per taste
Food color 01 pinches (optional)
How to Make Mutton Pulao
Cook meat curry
- First of all, put ghee or butter in a cooker and heat it, when the oil becomes hot, add big cardamom, black pepper, and some cloves and fry it.
- When they fry a little, then add chopped onions, green chilies and stir well. Fry the onion till it becomes transparent brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste to it and fry for a few minutes.
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and Kashmiri red chili and fry, mix the meat pieces well.
- Add salt as per taste, garam masala, and fry, add about two cups of water, and stir well.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook the mutton till it becomes tender.
- Open the lid of the cooker and see if the water is too much, then open the lid and cook a little more.
- Switch off the gas and remove the cooker from the flame.
Mix Rice and Meat curry
- Put oil in a pan and heat it, add cinnamon, bay leaves, and cloves and fry for a while.
- Add chopped onions, green chilies, and fry for about 1-2 minutes.
- Cook it for few minutes while stirring continuously.
- Now add water, salt according to the taste, and cook till a boil.
- Put the washed rice in boiling water.
- Add cooked mutton curry to it and mix well
- Now let it cook on low to medium flame.
- When the rice is cooked, turn off the flame.
- Now your mutton pulao is ready, take it out on a plate and serve hot.
- Garnish with fried onions, coriander leaves on top of the pulao.
Suggestions
- Cook the rice on medium to low flame otherwise the rice will stick to the bottom.
- If you like the color then you can use the color while cooking the Basmati rice.
- We have used basmati rice in our recipe, you can cook it with any other rice also.
- If you use chopped potatoes and lemon juice in your mutton pulao recipe, it will become yummier.
