Ingredients for Amla Candy recipe

Indian Gooseberry (Amla)     01kilogram

Sugar                                               700 grams

Preparation

  • Wash and clean the gooseberry thoroughly.
  • Now take water in a deep-bottomed big pan and keep it for boiling.
  •  When the water starts boiling, add amla to it, let the gooseberry boil in water for 2-3 minutes.
  • Switch off the gas and cover the pot with the lid and let it rest for room temperature.
  • Put the amla in a sieve and drain off the excess water.
  • When the boiled gooseberry cools down, then cut it with the help of a knife and take out the kernels.
  • Now make a powder of 700 grams of sugar.

How to make Amla Candy

  • In another pan, add 650 grams of sugar to it, add pieces of boiled gooseberry,
  • Take care that these pieces are completely covered with sugar.
  • (50 grams of sugar powder keep aside)
  • Leave this mixture at room temperature for about 2 days. After 2 days the sugar will turn into syrup and the gooseberry pieces will float
  • Stir the pieces well so that the gooseberry drinks the syrup completely, now cover the lid and leave it for 3 days.
  • After 3 days you will find the pieces sinking to the bottom of the syrup.
  • Now put the pieces of amla in a thick sieve and filter it. Keep the syrup aside.
  • Spread the piece on a plastic sheet and keep it in the sun.
  • Dry the amla pieces well in the sun, when they are completely dry, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and keep the amla candy in an airtight container.
  • You can make amla syrup by reusing the used syrup.
