Selecting the Right Onion

The selection of good onions is most important while making onion rings. Although you can use any type of onion, a large-sized red onion is good for this. I use red onions in my recipe.

Ingredients for Onion Rings

Onion                                     o1 big (reddish)

Maida(all pupose flour)        1/2 cup all purpose flour

Chili Flakes                            1 /2 tsp

Milk                                       1/2 cup

 Baking Powder                     0 1 tsp

Salt                                         as per taste

Bread Crumbs                       (to coat)

Water                                    (for mixing flour)

Oil                                          03 tbsp (to avoid)

Herbs                                     01 tsp

 How to make onion rings

Prepration

  • Firstly wash the onion and cut it into a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Then carefully take out each of its rings. Keep the last small piece of onion for other dishes.
  • Now in another large bowl mix all purpose flour, baking soda, mixed herbs, salt as per taste and chili flakes.
  • Now put one onion ring in the flour mixture, wrap it well, and keep aside.
  • Dissolve some flour in the milk, mix it well so that no lumps should remain.
  •  Lift each onion ring and dip it in the batter, then coat it well in the bread crumbs.

How to fry onion rings

  • Now heat oil in a pan and add 4-5 onion rings, do not collect too much, fry the rings till they turn golden brown. Fry it by flipping it and let it become crisp.
  • Put it in a kitchen napkin to remove excess oil.
  • Now your onion rings are ready, serve it hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
