Methi Kadhi Recipe
You cannot add Punjabi Kadhi to extra dishes, as this traditional dish brings combination and variety to special occasions and is loved by all. Kadhi made with fresh fenugreek leaves is one of my favorite dishes during winter. This is a very easy recipe and is made quickly. Kadhi Recipes are made in Rajasthani, Punjabi, or North with variations. Punjabi Methi Kadhi has a unique taste and flavour, I made this Kadhi for the first time during my stay in Lucknow. Make it in the cold today and enjoy eating it.
Serving method
Roti, naan, rice, jeera rice, or pulao are the best accompaniments to serve.

Ingredients for Methi Kadhi
Fenugreek 150 grams (washed and chopped)
Onion 01 medium size (chopped)
Tomato 01 medium size (chopped)
Curd 01 cup or 2 cups buttermilk
Gram flour 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Kashmiri red chili powder 1/2 tsp
salt as per taste
Cumin 1/4 tsp
Rai (mustard seeds) 1/4 tsp
Dry red chili 2, 3
Asafoetida 01 pinch
Oil 02 tbsp
Methi Kadhi Recipe
- To make fenugreek curry, first of all, take curd in a big pan as per the quantity mentioned above, whisk it well, add gram flour, and stir well, there should be no lumps in the solution.
- Add a little salt as per taste and water as required to adjust the consistency.
- Turn on the gas and make the flame medium, now keep this mixture on the flame, and cook it while stirring it in between.
- Now add chopped onion and fry till it turns light pink.
- Add chopped tomatoes to it and cook a little, add fenugreek leaves and fry the whole mixture till it becomes soft.
- Now your gram flour mixture would also have cooked and would have become thick. Add the pre-fried mixture to it and mix well.
- Cook the whole mixture for about 3,4 minutes and turn off the gas.
- Your Methi Kadhi is ready, garnish with green coriander and serve it hot with roti, naan, rice, jeera rice, or pulao!
Suggestion:
- If you use buttermilk, add water.
- Use 2-3 days old buttermilk to bring sourness.
