Ingredients Stir Fry Kala Chana Recipe

dried Kala Chana (black chickpeas)     01 cup

Oil (any cooking oil)                                   02 tablespoons

Mustard seeds                                            01 teaspoon

Cumin seeds                                                01 teaspoon

Onion                                                              01 (finely chopped)

Tomatoes                                                      02 ( finely chopped)

Green chilies                                                2-3 ( slit)

Ginger                                                            1″ minced

Cloves Garlic                                                3-4  minced

Turmeric powder                                       01 tsp

Coriander powder                                     01 tsp

Cumin powder                                            1/2 tsp

Garam Masala                                             1/2 tsp

Salt                                                                   to taste

Fresh coriander leaves                            for garnishing

Method:

  • In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin. Let them crackle.
  • Now add chopped onions and cook on high flame till fried brown.
  • Now add ginger and garlic. Cook for 1 minute till the raw smell is gone.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook till tomatoes become soft and the oil starts separating.
  • Incorporate turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala into the mixture. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  • Add kala chana to the pan and stir to combine with the masala mixture.
  • Season with salt according to taste. Mix well and let it cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
  • You can also Serve it hot with your daily meal.

Note: You can change the spice proportions and other condiments according to your taste bud’s demand. This recipe is quite basic; sure, you can add diced bell peppers, chopped spinach, or even cubed boiled potatoes.
