Instructions Paneern Lahori Recipe :
Prepare the Paneer:
Before anything else, make sure to thoroughly wash the cheese and then proceed to cut it into cubes. For a richer taste, lightly fry the paneer cubes in a tablespoon of oil until golden, then set aside. This step is optional if you prefer a softer paneer.
Cook the Base:
Warm up some oil or ghee in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add the finely chopped onion and cook them until they turn golden brown. Now add the chopped onions and cook them until they turn golden brown. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
Build the Sauce:
Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture, indicating that the tomatoes are cooked through. Add the turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir thoroughly and let it cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
Add Paneer and Spices:
Gently combine the paneer cubes, green chilies, and garam masala to ensure the paneer is evenly coated with the masala. Sprinkle in the dried fenugreek leaves by crushing them between your palms for extra aroma and flavor.
Simmer and Serve:
Cook for 5 minutes on low heat, allowing the paneer to absorb the spices. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan, paratha, roti, or rice.
This Lahori Paneer is a delightful dish bursting with flavors, perfect for any meal!
