Ingredients for Aarbi ke patte ke pakode
Taro leaves (Arbi ke patte) 8-10 (wash and dry thoroughly}
Onion 01 medium size (chopped finely)
Green chili 3-4 (chop finely)
Gram flour 02 tbsp
Rice flour 01 tbsp
Semolina 01 tbsp
Red chili powder 01 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Soda bi carb 1/4 tsp
Ajwain 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida 01 pinch
Dry mango powder 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
*Select small leaves of colocasia, it is tasty and tender.
Method of making fritters
- First of all, wash and dry the colocasia leaves thoroughly, cut these leaves into fine pieces and keep them aside.
- Finely chop the onion, green chilies, and coriander leaves and keep them aside in a vessel.
- Now take gram flour, rice flour, and semolina in a big bowl according to the quantity written above, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, asafoetida, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon soda. Add water as required and whisk well.
- The batter should not be too thick or thin.
- Add onion and chopped green chilies to this solution and mix. Add chopped colocasia leaves and mix well. Now your pakoda batter is ready. Heat oil in a thick bottom pan, and fry it like other pakoras.
- Put the fried pakoras in a paper napkin, this will remove excess oil from it. Now serve hot pakoras with green chutney, red chutney, or tomato ketchup.
